Commercial Retailer Drives Significant Sales Through Increased Online Website Traffic and In-Store Visits

The national commercial retailer aimed to expand its audience and drive online sales by targeting shoppers who had indicated interest in its brand in the past. By leveraging Site Retargeting, Simpli.fi created an audience comprised of shoppers who had previously visited the client’s website. This enabled Simpli.fi to reignite interest and drive those users to return to the retailer’s site to make a purchase.
From Impressions to In-Store Sales
The national commercial retailer also leveraged Simpli.fi’s Addressable Geo-Fencing solution to reach loyal audiences using their first-party customer data. The retailer supplied a list that featured the addresses of customers who had previously made purchases. Simpli.fi uploaded the list of addresses to its platform, using a privacy-by-design approach. Simpli.fi’s platform then used GPS and publicly available plat line data to automatically draw target fences around the exact shape and size of each property, enabling the retailer to retarget these past purchasers.
Additionally, the retailer utilized Simpli.fi’s Addressable Audience Curation tool to create a custom audience in real-time based on location data, choosing from more than 3,000+ demographic variables. They focused on the audience with the highest likelihood of conversion by targeting individuals who are working in the construction industry or users who have shown online interest in home improvement projects and renovations. They targeted this audience at a household-level based on a list of key cities for growth around the retailer’s storefronts. Simpli.fi’s Addressable Geo-Fencing solution then automatically matched each address to the specific boundaries of the property plat lines and built target zones around each household. Simpli.fi served the client’s display ads across devices captured within each home.

To measure the success of the campaign through online sales, the national commercial retailer implemented Simpli.fi’s Transaction Value Reporting to pass back the purchase value and order ID from each online conversion. This enabled the retailer to analyze purchase trends and easily calculate the total transaction value of sales attributed to the campaign with Simpli.fi. Six months into their 2025 campaign, the client generated over $37 million in online sales, driven by more than 85,000 online conversions to their website.
The retailer aimed to determine the number of targeted customers who were served an ad and subsequently visited one of their locations. Using Conversion Zones placed around 80 of the retailer’s U.S. locations, Simpli.fi tracked foot traffic driven to the client’s storefronts. To further measure the campaign’s success, the retailer leveraged Simpli.fi’s partnership with LiveRamp to attribute offline sales to individuals who were targeted via the campaign and then made a purchase in-store. By July 2025, the retailer had experienced over 5,000 foot traffic visits to their storefronts, resulting in more than $15 million in offline, in-person cart value.
With both online and offline performance measured, the commercial retailer was able to fully evaluate the return on their advertising investment. Their original goal was to achieve a Cost Per Action (CPA) between $25-$35, accounting for both online purchases and in-store transactions. The campaign not only met that benchmark, but far exceeded it, delivering an impressive $6.00 CPA. This strong performance highlights the efficiency of an advertising strategy that combined location-based targeting, online retargeting, and end-to-end measurement. By driving high volumes of qualified traffic and measurable sales at a fraction of the expected cost, the campaign proved to be a standout success and resulted in the commercial retailer extending their partnership with Simpli.fi.
